Kitchen Stewarding Manager

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Lead and manage the kitchen stewarding team, including hiring, training, and evaluating staff performance.
  • Schedule staff shifts and allocate daily responsibilities to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure all kitchen areas, including dishwashing stations, utensils, and equipment, are maintained in accordance with health and safety regulations.
  • Implement and monitor cleaning schedules and procedures to uphold cleanliness standards.
  • Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and kitchen tools, ensuring sufficient stock levels and proper storage.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors for procurement of necessary materials and supplies.
  • Adhere to all sanitation and safety regulations and procedures, and ensure compliance within the kitchen stewarding team.
  • Conduct regular safety meetings and training sessions to promote a safe work environment.

Person Specifications

  • Proven experience in kitchen stewarding or a related role in a hospitality environment, typically 5-8 years,
  • Previous supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of sanitation and safety regulations in foodservice.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills for record keeping and inventory management.
