Director - Food & Beverage
Job Responsibilities
- Assists in recruiting, training, and supervising a diverse team of food and beverage professionals.
- Provides guidance, leadership, and support to foster a culture of excellence within the department.
- Finalizes budgets, forecasting revenues, and controlling costs to achieve financial goals with the support from Finance team.
- Analyses financial reports, identify areas for improvement, and implement strategies for optimizing profitability.
- Works with the team to ensure exceptional guest experiences by maintaining high standards of service, food quality, and presentation.
- Handles guest feedback and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
- Oversees various food and beverage outlets, including restaurants, bars, room service, banquets, and catering services.
- Coordinates service operations to ensure seamless and exceptional guest service.
- Ensures that food and beverages meet the highest standards of taste, presentation, and safety.
- Conducts regular quality checks, tastings, and evaluations to maintain consistency.
- Supervises inventory levels, track stock, and assist in procurement to maintain quality and minimize waste.
- Directs the team to work with purchasing teams to achieve day to day requirement.
- Collaborates with the marketing team to develop and execute marketing strategies, promotions, and events to attract and retain customers.
- Guidelines the marketing communication to the creation of effective advertising campaigns.
- Ensures compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to food service, alcohol service, and workplace safety.
- Guides the team to maintaining HACCP standards across the property.
- Exercises department license and guiding the team to collaborate with finance.
- Ensures timely finalization of department goals with management and assignment of the goals to respective team members.
- Ensures continuous performance management is encouraged within the team.
- Ensures discipline and adherence to core brand standards within the team.
- Aligns with the Cinnamon brand standards.
- Thorough understanding about the business continuity planning (BCP), General data protection regulation (GDPR) & emergency planning & complying with them.
Person Specifications
- 4 to 5 years’ experience in a similar capacity food and beverage management roles within the hospitality industry.
- A diploma or a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, culinary arts, business administration, or a related field is typically required.
- Certification in food safety and responsible alcohol service (e.g., ServSafe, TIPS) is often required.
- Strong strategic thinking and the ability to develop and execute long-term plans and a quick decision maker.
- Exceptional leadership and team-building skills.
- Proficiency in financial management, budgeting, and cost control.
- A dedication to providing outstanding guest experiences.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interactions with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
- Effective problem-solving skills to address complex operational challenges.
