Job Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring, maintaining, and the continual improvement of the ISO 22000:2018 Food Safety Management system.
- Maintain and update all relevant reporting, ensuring alignment with company guidelines, trends, stakeholder input & concerns and corporate strategy & directions.
- Stay up to date of emerging trends and best practices within the industry
- Identify key areas of risk in various food operations and recommend early remedial actions.
- Identify cross-contamination areas in food preparation and correct them immediately
- Ensure compliance with the regulations, licensing conditions, international codes of practice and ISO 22000 certification, relating to food receiving, storing, preparation and serving
- Handle complaints or enquiries from customers on food hygiene matters
- Conduct daily checks on the personal, environmental and food hygiene conditions of the food establishment and maintain records on the findings
- Responsible for implementing, maintaining and documenting Critical Control Points, Operational Pre-Requisite Programmes and Pre-Requisite Programmes and ensuring that employees have adequate training to carry out CCP, OPRP, PRP work, and reviewing CCP, OPRP, PRP logs to identify deviations (Non-conformances) and potential hazards.
- Conduct regular audits and inspections to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
- Train and mentor food handlers promoting a robust culture of food safety and quality excellence.
- Liaise with external regulatory bodies, external service providers and customers regarding food safety related matters.
Person Specifications
Eligibility requirements
- A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Food Science, Microbiology or Biological Sciences from a recognized University.
- Certifications related to Food Safety is essential (Lead Auditor in ISO 22000:2018, Internal Auditor in ISO 22000;2018 etc.)
- A minimum of 2-4 years of relevant experience, preferably in a ISO certified star class hotel.
- In-depth knowledge of food safety regulations, principles, practices, and trends relevant to Hospitality Industry
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills with the capability to effectively manage and lead a diverse team.
- Excellent skills in both verbal and written communication.
- Proficiency in computer literacy.
