Chief Engineer
Job Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise and leadership to the engineering department.
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of engineers and technical professionals.
Set departmental objectives, monitor performance, and provide guidance and feedback.
Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with the organization's mission and objectives.
Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of engineering projects.
Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
Allocate engineering resources effectively to optimize project execution.
Develop and manage engineering budgets, including project budgets and capital expenditures.
Monitor spending and control costs.
Establish and enforce quality control measures and standards for engineering projects.
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Identify and mitigate risks associated with engineering projects.
Develop contingency plans for potential issues.
Collaborate with other departments, such as product development, research and development, and operations, to ensure alignment and integration of engineering efforts.
Prepare and present reports on engineering activities, project progress, and departmental performance to senior management and stakeholders
Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, MS Project Management, Tender Document Preparation, and BOQs.
Person Specifications
A bachelor’s degree in engineering electrical /mechanical/marine or a related field is typically required.
A master's degree may be preferred.
5 years of experience in engineering with progressively increasing responsibilities.
Similar experience in a Five Star property will be an added advantage.
Professional engineering licensure or certification may be required, depending on the industry and jurisdiction.
