Director, Event Sales (JC-4993)

Job Responsibilities

• Proactively source outside sales opportunities to network and develop relationships with clients of target groups and corporate accounts.

• Builds relationships with colleagues, professional organizations and vendors/suppliers to uncover opportunities, leads, and ultimately sales.

• Ensure meeting and function rooms are properly maintained at all times liaising with food and beverage outlets regarding reservations and flow of clients

• Knowledge of local area business and existing client database.

• Establish performance goals for sales team and monitor performance on a continual basis.

• Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the sales team, while maintaining focus on the company strategic goals.

• Plan, implement and monitor events to make sure they run smoothly and efficiently

• Collaborate with other department heads to create an exceptional experience for our guests

• Develop and implement marketing strategies for new sales leads.

• Create sales campaigns focused on communicating and nurturing relationships with guests and driving repeat sales.

• Communicate effectively with new guests, return guests, co-workers and management.

• Conduct market analysis and devise strategies for generating new business.

Person Specifications

• Progressive experience of 3 to 4 years in an Events and Banquet Management position at a five-star hotel with equal outlet numbers, preferably two years in a similar position.

• Degree in Business Management or Marketing from a recognized university/ CIM or any other professional qualification in Marketing.

• Knowledge of both local and global markets.

• Excellent communication, public relations and presentation skills.

• Ability to acknowledge and respond to guest feedback adequately.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of guests and hotel.

• Financial analytical skills.

• Excellent coaching & training skills.
