Manager, Front Office

Job Responsibilities

•  Supervising the Front Office operations & monitoring guest contact personnel and ensuring that repeat guests and VIPs receive special attention and recognition.

• Monitoring and controlling Front Office operation in the areas of revenue, expenditure, profitability and performance against the plan.

• Coordinating exchange of information between departments within the Front Office and direct exchange of information with other departments such as Housekeeping, Laundry, Maintenance and Security.

• Identifying training needs, developing formal training plans and implementing training programs.

• Scheduling and regularly conducting routine inspections of areas under control.

• Monitoring standards of conduct, grooming and hygiene of Front Office staff.

• Conducting weekly departmental meetings, including a review of procedure and events that requires special handling.

• Monitoring and controlling the inventories for operating equipment and supplies.

• Seeking methods and ensuring that the Hotel achieves the highest possible occupancy.

• Maintaining an excellent rapport with tour operators concerning bookings, reservations, etc.

• Answering inquiries pertaining to hotel policies and services and resolving guest complaints.

• Preparing and communicating occupancy statistics on a regular basis to Head Office.

 

Person Specifications

• Degree in Hospitality and Tourism from a recognized institute.

• MBA qualification will be an added advantage.

• At least two years' experience in a similar capacity in a star class hotel would be preferred.

• Pleasing personality with a positive mindset.

• Understanding on systems and software relevant to Front Office operations.
