Purchasing Executive
Job Responsibilities
Approves all storeroom re-order requests, verifying quantities within the established Min/Max stock levels. Responsible for all administrative functions of the Materials Department of other related duties. Responsible for all purchasing functions, quotations, quality and availability. Conduct market research to identify pricing trends, Evaluate offers from vendors and negotiate better prices Prepare cost analyses.
- Lead the development and management of financial plans, budgets, and forecasts to support the organization's short-term and long-term goals.
- Collaborate with department heads to ensure procurement activities align with approved budgets and operational requirements.
- Plan, monitor, and control purchasing activities to ensure cost-effective sourcing and timely availability of goods and services.
- Conduct cost analysis, supplier comparisons, and purchase variance analysis to support informed purchasing decisions.
- Analyze procurement data and prepare reports on purchasing performance, cost savings, and supplier efficiency.
- Identify supply chain risks and opportunities and recommend strategies to ensure continuity and cost optimization.
- Develop and implement procurement policies, procedures, and controls to improve efficiency and compliance.
- Ensure accurate documentation of purchase orders, contracts, and supplier agreements in line with company policies.
- Evaluate suppliers and negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and service levels to optimize value for the organization.
- Maintain strong relationships with suppliers, vendors, and service providers to ensure reliability and quality standards.
- Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, financial controls, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with Finance and relevant departments to support accurate budgeting, cost control, and audit requirements.
- Provide purchasing insights and recommendations to management to support operational and strategic planning.
- Support sustainability and cost-saving initiatives through strategic sourcing and supplier evaluation.
- Lead, guide, and support junior purchasing staff and store personnel, ensuring adherence to procurement best practices.
- Participate in performance evaluations and support skill development within the purchasing and stores function.
Person Specifications
- Following a qualification offered by a Professional Accounting Body/ Graduate or following a Degree in Finance/Accounting.
