The Colombo Ice Company Limited (CICL), manufacturer of Elephant House Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CICL is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Executive – Learning & Development (Field Sales Coach). The position exists to provide strategic guidance and effective coaching to field sales staff, enabling them to perform their responsibilities with excellence. This role ensures that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved within the specified timelines and across the assigned geographical regions.
Job Responsibilities
- Guide and coach both company and dealer field sales staff to strengthen their skills, knowledge, and performance.
- Provide constructive, actionable feedback to help individuals and teams achieve their sales execution KPIs.
- Track and evaluate the effectiveness of field coaching initiatives, ensuring continuous improvement and consistent delivery of results.
- Execute field training interventions provided by the category team, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies and goals.
- Monitor, track, and follow up on the completion of e-learning modules to reinforce knowledge and skill development among field staff.
- Optimize training materials and tools, ensuring they are effectively utilized to maximize learning impact.
- Regularly assess field execution standards, identifying gaps and development needs.
- Collaborate with the sales leadership team to create action plans that address performance challenges and improve frontline execution.
- Provide periodic reports and insights into coaching effectiveness and team progress.
- Ensure all field sales team members complete HR-related processes such as Performance Management System (PMS) reviews and eLearn modules on time.
- Provide the necessary knowledge and guidance to field staff to provide compliance and understanding of HR policies and procedures.
- Act as a link between the HR team and the field sales team to facilitate smooth execution of people-related initiatives
- Support the recruitment process by ensuring alignment with the required skill sets and company culture.
Person Specifications
- Extensive experience in field sales staff Training and development within the FMCG industry, with proven expertise in field sales coaching, training delivery.
- Strong analytical skills, business acumen, and proficiency in MS Office support effective training alignment with business objectives.
- Flexibility to work in both office (10%) and field (90%) environments ensures seamless collaboration and goal achievement.
- Sound knowledge in Field sales management and Training & development.
- Leadership & Coaching, Interpersonal Skill, Technical proficiency.
- Proven language skills in Sinhala and English/Tamil.
- Proficiency in MS Office.
- Strong analytical skills and business acumen.
