The Colombo Ice Company Limited (CICL), manufacturer of Elephant House Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CICL is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.

 

The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Executive - Learning & Development. The position exists to provide strategic guidance and effective coaching to field sales staff, enabling them to perform their responsibilities with excellence. This role ensures that all key performance indicators (KPIs) are consistently achieved within the specified timelines and across the assigned geographical regions.

Job Responsibilities

  • Guide and coach field sales staff to develop their selling skills, enhance productivity, and improve overall field performance.

  • Conduct regular field visits to observe, assess, and provide constructive feedback to team members based on individual performance.

  • Drive achievement of individual and team sales KPIs through ongoing support, motivation, and performance management.

  • Ensure effective execution of field coaching activities for all field sales team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.

  • Implement field training interventions as provided by the category or central training team, ensuring alignment with organizational strategies.

  • Monitor progress and impact of coaching interventions to ensure consistent application and measurable improvement across the sales team.

  • Reinforce learning through timely follow-ups on e-learning module completion and comprehension.

  • Encourage and track the application of digital learning content in real-world sales scenarios.

  • Maximize the use of available training materials, tools, and resources to support development and sales effectiveness.

Person Specifications

  • Extensive experience in field sales management, learning and development within the FMCG industry, with proven expertise in coaching, training delivery and designing.
  • A bachelor’s degree in business management, HR, or a related discipline is an added advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills, business acumen and proficiency in MS Office
  • Flexibility to work in both office (05%) and field (95%) environments.
  • Leadership and interpersonal skills, proven language skills in Sinhala and English/Tamil.
