Assistant Manager - Legal Department
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Assistant Manager - Legal Department. The position exists to provide comprehensive legal support to manufacturing operations, including corporate and commercial advisory, contract management, due diligence, notarial functions, and dispute management, while supervising junior legal staff.
Job Responsibilities
- Drafting / reviewing all types of commercial contracts and related documentation.
- Initiate/support the business to ensure that the business operates in line with legal and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinating /assisting in litigation related matters as a when required.
- Handle conveyancing and notarial work, including carrying out title searches, drafting and attesting of title deeds and documents.
- Ensure effective supervision, skill development, and high - quality legal outputs by providing guidance, review, and oversight to junior legal staff.
Person Specifications
- Be an Attorney at Law with a minimum of 4 years of post-qualifying experience, and Notary Public with a license to practice in Colombo in English language
- Degree in Law, any other professional qualifications would be considered as an added advantage.
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge and prior experience with intellectual property registration processes.
- Have a strong background in corporate and commercial law, preferably within manufacturing sector.
- Knowledge in legal framework applicable to Consumer Foods Sector business operations.
- Decision making and problem solving skills, negotiation skills, initiative and follow through policies, work under pressure, excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
