Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking an ideal candidate to fill the position of Assistant Manager - Procurement - New Projects - Consumer Foods Sector. The position exists to own and manage end-to-end procurement of all food ingredients and food-contact consumables for the food business, ensuring consistent quality, food safety compliance, security of supply, and cost competitiveness, in line with food standards and business growth plans.
Job Responsibilities
- Negotiate supplier pricing, contracts, SLAs, and commercial terms to deliver competitive and sustainable outcomes.
- Monitor cost trends and commodity price movements, driving cost optimization and value improvement initiatives.
- Ensure pricing structures support target margins and long-term business sustainability.
- Lead annual and ad-hoc supplier negotiations to secure strategic and cost-effective agreements.
- Ensure uninterrupted availability of approved food ingredients across all outlets through effective demand planning.
- Collaborate with Operations and Planning teams to align procurement volumes with forecasted demand.
- Develop and implement contingency plans to mitigate risks related to critical raw materials and key suppliers.
- Coordinate with regional and global supply chain teams to align sourcing strategies, supplier approvals, specifications, and logistics models.
- Ensure supplier readiness and timely onboarding to support new store openings, expansion phases, and pre-opening trials.
- Ensure full compliance with procurement policies, documentation standards, and audit requirements, supporting internal and external audits.
Person Specifications
- 5–8 years of experience in food procurement or sourcing within FMCG, food manufacturing, or hospitality sectors.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards, supplier audit processes, and quality management systems.
- Proven experience in commercial negotiations and supplier/vendor relationship management.
- Prior exposure to multi-site operations or fast-scaling business environments is preferred.
- Hands-on, commercially astute, and comfortable operating in high-growth, dynamic, and evolving environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
