CHANNEL MARKETING EXECUTIVE
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Channel Marketing Executive. The position exists to assist in creation of well researched Channel initiatives that achieve overall volume & financial results of the Beverage category. Work closely with Brand/Trade Marketing & Sales teams and develop & lead execution of fully integrated, consumer, shopper and customer / channel insights based on brand / category solutions and activities for customers / channels.
Job Responsibilities
• Develop and execute channel marketing activities to drive brand visibility, outlet penetration, sales growth, and consumer engagement across assigned channels.
• Support the planning and implementation of trade promotions, consumer promotions, outlet activations, sampling campaigns, visibility drives, and seasonal marketing initiatives.
• Coordinate with sales teams, distributors, agencies, and suppliers to ensure timely and effective execution of marketing campaigns at outlet level.
• Monitor competitor activities, market trends, pricing, visibility, and promotional initiatives, and provide actionable insights to the management team.
• Ensure proper deployment of POSM, branding material, and other visibility assets in line with brand guidelines.
• Track and evaluate campaign performance, sales uplift, outlet coverage, redemption rates, and return on marketing investment.
• Assist in preparing channel marketing plans, budgets, performance reports, presentations, and post-campaign evaluations.
• Work closely with brand, sales, supply chain, and finance teams to ensure smooth execution of channel initiatives.
• Support new product launches by coordinating trade communication, outlet branding, merchandising, and launch activations.
Person Specifications
• Degree in Sales/Marketing/Management or equivalent with Trade Marketing or Channel Development experience in an FMCG company.
• Sound business understanding to implement channel strategies as well as understanding of Sales and Distribution processes and consumer & shopper behaviours.
• Strong understanding of Sri Lankan trade channels, including general trade, modern trade, SMMT, and HORECA.
• Sound knowledge of Channel Management, Trade Marketing, Channel Strategy, Sales Management, distribution, channel activation, display and merchandising, event negotiation, and management.
• Good analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data, market trends, and campaign performance.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and reporting tools.
