Executive - Export Operations

The Colombo Ice Company Limited (CICL), manufacturer of Elephant House Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CICL is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Executive – Export Operations. We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented individual to join our team. The primary responsibility of this role is to support the execution of export activities and ensure smooth coordination across functions in our international business. This includes documentation, logistics coordination, and administrative support related to the export of Beverages, Ice Creams, and Processed Meats.
Job Responsibilities
- Export Operations: Assist in managing day-to-day export functions, including preparing and processing export documentation, coordinating with shipping partners, and ensuring timely deliveries to international customers.
- Regulatory Compliance: Work with the export team to obtain necessary documentation and approvals (e.g. TIEP) in line with regulatory and customs requirements.
- Tax Documentation: Collaborate with the organization’s tax team to support the preparation and submission of monthly, quarterly, and annual tax-related documentation to government departments.
- Customer Coordination: Engage with international buyers to support the sales process by providing product information, assisting in order processing, and offering timely updates on shipments.
- Administration: Contribute to the completion of administrative tasks related to international trade operations, such as accurate record-keeping, preparing internal reports, and supporting data analysis requirements.
Person Specifications
- A degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 1 – 2 years of relevant experience in Export and International Trade Operations (preferably in the FMCG sector in Sri Lanka).
- Proficiency in IT: working knowledge of systems used in logistics and export operations (e.g. SAP).
- MS Excel: Ability to use MS Excel for basic data entry, analysis, and reporting.
- Attention to Detail: Accuracy in documentation and consistency in following processes.
- Communication: Good written and verbal communication skills for both internal coordination and external customer interactions.
- Team Player: Willingness to collaborate with peers, cross-functional teams, and external partners.
- Interpersonal Skills: Ability to build supportive working relationships and maintain a professional approach when dealing with customers and authorities.
