Manager – Quality Assurance
Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Manager – Quality Assurance. The position exists to ensure Total Quality Assurance of Beverage category products within statutory and organizational guidelines with the objective of delivering final products for consumers with no food hazards.
Job Responsibilities
- To manage overall quality aspects of total beverages manufactured under our manufacturing facilities.
- Engauge with physical, chemical, and microbiological analyses on all beverages covering all RM and PM to ensure proper quality assurance.
- Take necessary corrective action or escalate issues to the management to ensure required quality standards are maintained.
- Continuously monitor operational parameters and output quality to optimize production output.
- Report any deviations from cleaning and sanitation standards and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Continuously monitor production processes and update procedures where necessary to improve quality and efficiency.
- Create awareness among production personnel regarding required hygiene and sanitation standards.
- Conduct spot checks and tests to verify compliance with hygiene and quality requirements.
- Educate production personnel on the impact of not adhering to hygiene and quality standards.
- Ensure GMPs are followed across all areas of the manufacturing process to minimize food safety risks.
- Ensure compliance with current quality and safety standards.
- Identify and communicate new industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Plan and implement action plans for the timely execution of ISO 9001, ISO 22000 standards.
- Perform verification activities related to SAP system.
- Control and monitor measuring and monitoring equipment, including calibration as per the established schedule.
Person Specifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science / Bio Science or Agriculture and Lead Auditor with minimum of 5 years work experience in a FMCG manufacturing environment.
- Good business understanding in Food and Beverage manufacturing & Quality Assurance; Global Industry trends in the FMCG Industry
- Sound knowledge in Production systems, quality standards and systems, factory ordinance, food regulatory standards, food safety standards, health and safety systems, financial knowledge, modern process technology.
- Understanding and requirement fulfillment of Quality Management systems, Food safety management system, Occupational Health and Safety management system, Environmental Safety Management System, Energy Management System, Good Manufacturing Process and PRP, CCP, OPRP.
- Planning and control skills, organizing skills, communication skills, interpersonal relations, leadership and motivational skills, 'Quality' mind-set, Ability to quickly adjust to changing business requirements.
