Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Soft Drinks and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings, PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Executive - Quality Assurance. The position exists to carry out microbiological & chemical examination for soft drinks, milk and raw materials within statutory and organizational guidelines with the Objective OF ensuring the products meet required standards.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform in-process controlling of manufacturing lines (hot filling juice, soft drinks etc.), Assure the right quality of raw materials/packing materials at the point of receiving, Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) throughout the production line, Perform relevant quality related testing during various production stages to assure the right quality of finished goods, Ensure the finished goods are released with first time right quality, Timely completion of SAP related transactions and ensure conducting of QMS testing on time, Verification of CIP, ensure the execution of annual calibration & testing.
- Ensuring adherence to hygiene standards, overseeing cleanliness, sanitization procedures, waste management, staff training on hygiene practices, conducting audits, and maintaining records to ensure a safe and compliant production environment, Coaching of shop floor people for GMP, GHP & for other best practices, Conducting microbiological tests on raw material and packing material according to a sample plan; Conducting microbiological tests on finished products ( soft drinks, juices) according to a sample plan.
- Identification and execution of process improvements with regards to quality improvement, cost and time saving.
- Supplier auditing & supplier improvement project implementation.
- Responsible for maintain applicable ISO requirements related to QMS,FSMS, EMS & OHSMS in respective area.
Person Specifications
- Bachelors Degree in Food Science/ Bio Science or Agriculture with at least 2 years experience in a manufacturing environment. Preferably 1 year experience in Quality Assuarance.
- Food and beverage Manufacturing & Quality Assuarance Systems; Global Industy trends in the FMCG Industry.
- Possess Knowledge in Manufacturing Consumer Food Products and related Food Technology, Total Quality Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Continous Improvement Methodology, Food Standards and related regulatory requirements, Food safety awareness & implementation. Industrial Relations Legislation, Environment, Health and Safety legislation.
Understanding and requirement fulfillment of Quality Management systems, Food safety management system, Occupational Health and Safety management system, Environmental Safety Management System, Energy Management System, Good Manufacturing Process and PRP, CCP, OPRP. - Skills in Business Acumen; Building High Performance Teams; Analytical; Innovative; Communication; Adaptability; Negotiation; Decision Taking and problem Solving; Organisation; Attention to detail; and Customer Focus.
