Ceylon Cold Stores PLC (CCS), manufacturer of Elephant House Beverages and Ice Creams is a leading consumer food company in Sri Lanka. CCS is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC.
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Manager Projects – Consumer Foods Sector. The selected candidate is responsible for managing the Supply Chain Project Management Office (PMO) for the CF sector, ensuring the effective delivery of strategic and operational initiatives across planning, manufacturing, warehousing, logistics, and route-to-market. The role supports prioritization, funding coordination, governance, and structured execution to deliver measurable value in cost efficiency, service performance, agility, sustainability, and risk management.
It facilitates cross-functional coordination, supports stakeholder engagement, and ensures smooth execution of projects across the business. The role also contributes to strengthening PMO practices and maintains a disciplined delivery approach, ensuring alignment with the overall supply chain transformation agenda in a fast-paced, multi-channel FMCG environment.
Job Responsibilities
Support the execution of supply chain project portfolios in line with business priorities and operational plans. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to deliver project objectives (service levels, cost optimization, inventory health). Assist in tracking project progress and ensuring timely delivery.
Follow established project governance frameworks including stage gates and reporting structures. Maintain project documentation, track milestones, and support regular project reviews. Ensure adherence to timelines, risks, and issue resolution processes.
Support budgeting and cost tracking for assigned projects. Ensure compliance with internal financial policies and assist in monitoring project expenditures. Work with finance teams to track variances and maintain cost efficiency.
Drive and support improvement initiatives in areas such as logistics, warehousing, and supply chain processes. Identify opportunities for efficiency improvements and assist in implementing solutions to enhance productivity and service levels.
Assist in vendor selection processes, including RFQs/RFPs and evaluations. Coordinate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods and services. Monitor vendor performance and support contract compliance.
Work closely with internal stakeholders (planning, operations, finance) to gather requirements and ensure smooth project execution. Provide regular updates on project status and support communication across teams.
Ensure project activities comply with company policies, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. Support implementation of sustainability and safety practices within project execution.
Person Specifications
- BSc in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related fields; a postgraduate degree is preferred with 05–10 years of professional experience in FMCG or manufacturing supply chain roles, including at least 3–5 years in PMO, program management, or cross-functional project leadership. Exposure to ERP, APS, WMS, TMS, and analytics platforms; ability to lead technology-enabled transformation.
- Business Understanding in Supply Chain Operations; End-to-End Value Chain Integration in FMCG Industry
- Sound Knowledge in End-to-End FMCG Supply Chain (Planning, Manufacturing, Warehousing, Logistics, Route-to-Market), ERP, APS, WMS, TMS, and analytics platforms ability to lead technology-enabled transformation, Total Quality Management, Total Productive Maintenance, Food Standards and related regulatory requirements, Industrial Relations Legislation Environment, Health and Safety legislation
