Food Technologist
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Food Technologist. The position exists to assist evaluating the ingredients, recipes & formulations continuously to meet the consumers and product requirements, Coordinate and work with the Marketing team to ensure regular development of new products to cater the market demands and changing external requirements, Maintain confidentiality with regard to all documents pertaining to recipes and formulations, assist to maintain consistent quality in all new products developed & existing ones with the objective of maintaining current and future products are well accepted by the consumers.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist to ensure that the product development process is maintained to deliver products that meet customer/consumer expectations.
- Ensure that the BOM are correctly get entered in the SAP system and BOM change requests are properly followed up in the TORQUE and get updated in the SAP.
- Assist in product formulation development and formulation changes through extensive research to improve an existing product or to rectify defects in an existing product in order to maintain quality consistently and ensure products cater to market demand and consumer requirements at present and in the future.
- Monitoring Beverage competitor products performance.
- Liaise with food regulatory authority, international food organizations, flavor and ingredient houses to ensure that the best and the most appropriate systems, processes, flavors and ingredients are used and work closely with them to understand the emerging trends in the world food arena and adopt best practices to develop/deliver products to delight the consumers.
- Assist in designing, developing and implementing quality assurance systems in the R & D department.
- Adaptation of ISO 22000 standard and responsible for the documentation, implementation, auditing and managing the entire quality management system within the internal and external environment of R & D.
Person Specifications
- Degree in food science or equivalent with minimum 1 years’ experience in a R & D department of a large scale FMCG business.
- Understanding the Critical Processes involved in beverage/Frozen confectionery Product development and R & D.
- Product development together with R & D, Production systems, quality standards and systems, factory ordinance, food regulations/ standards, food safety standards, health and environmental safety systems, financial knowledge, modern process technology, formulation of recipes.
- Understanding and requirement fulfillment of Quality Management systems, Food safety management system, Occupational Health and Safety management system, Environmental Safety Management System, Energy Management System, Good Manufacturing Process and PRP, CCP, OPRP.
- Planning and control skills, organizing skills, communication skills, interpersonal relations, leadership and motivational skills, 'innovative' and positive mind-set.
- Ability to quickly adjust to changing business requirements.
