Head of Learning & Development - Consumer Foods

 

Are you passionate about shaping people, culture, and capability? We are seeking a dynamic Head of Learning & Development to lead and implement our strategic people development agenda aligned to the business goals of the Consumer Foods Industry Group of John Keells Holdings PLC.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Drive people development initiatives to strengthen EVP, culture and performance, and build a high-performing, inclusive, future-ready organization.
  • Build leadership capability through structured development and upskilling programs that support the succession pipeline.
  • Lead a future-focused learning strategy that is aligned with business needs and local market dynamics, leveraging on the learning eco system and utilizing the Group’s Success Drivers framework, blending classroom, digital, and on-the-job training.
  • Enhance workforce and technical skills to ensure excellence in sales and marketing, manufacturing, safety, and quality, and evaluate training effectiveness and impact using relevant measurements, ensuring strong execution at plant, corporate, and frontline levels.
  • Partner with leaders, line managers, and HR Business Partners within the business to build a high performing, engaged workforce, and create a learning culture.
  • Lead the Strategic Talent Management process, including Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, and Development Plans.
  • Plan and manage the L&D budget effectively, ensuring maximum impact and value creation.
  • Act as the focal point for Learning and Development (including D,E &I related training) for the Sector, liaising with the respective Group leads for effective implementation and internalization of initiatives.
  • Build partnerships with external training providers, academic institutions, and industry experts to generate knowledge-share, build talent pipelines, and introduce cutting-edge learning solutions.
  • Drive the adoption of a Learning Management System (LMS) for easy access, tracking, and reporting of learning activities.
  • Support HR operational excellence by contributing to employee engagement initiatives and translating HR strategy into impactful learning experiences.

Person Specifications

  • 8+ years’ experience in HR, OD, and L&D roles preferably in a manufacturing or FMCG environment (F&B preferred).
  • University degree/Professional qualification in Business Administration, Human Resource Management or related field.
  • Strategic thinker with strong facilitation, coaching, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Passion for building a culture of continuous learning and innovation.
  • Team leader capable of driving a shared vision and building a strong performance-oriented learning culture.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to translate data into actionable insights.
