Assistant Manager - Food Safety & Operational Excellence
What You Need to Do
- Provide on-site food safety guidance, technical support and expertise across retail stores and supply chain operations.
- Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of food safety policies, procedures, standards, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Drive the implementation and maintenance of food safety management systems across business units.
- Develop, review, and facilitate food safety training and awareness programmes for operational teams to strengthen compliance and capability.
- Conduct internal audits, field inspections, and follow-up assessments to evaluate compliance and the effectiveness of implemented food safety controls.
- Identify food safety risks, operational gaps, and non-conformities, and coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to ensure timely resolution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to strengthen and sustain a proactive food safety culture across the organization.
- Provide technical guidance during food safety incidents, investigations and operational risk assessments.
- Monitor compliance with regulatory requirements and internationally recognized food safety standards.
- Track implementation progress and prepare reports on audit findings, corrective actions, and food safety performance metrics.
What You Need
- Bachelor's Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
- Professional Food Safety certification, Lead Auditor certification (ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, ISO 9001, or equivalent) is an advantage.
- 2- 3 years of experience in food safety, quality management, retail, food manufacturing, or hospitality.
- Strong knowledge of GMP, HACCP, food safety regulations and retail food safety practices.
- Good understanding of Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS) and operational compliance.
- Excellent auditing, inspection, analytical and problem-solving skills with experience in CAPA implementation.
- Experience in conducting food safety training and awareness programmes.
- Strong communication, stakeholder management and relationship-building skills across cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, work across multiple sites and perform effectively under pressure.
- High attention to detail with the ability to identify non-conformities, ensure compliance, and communicate technical food safety requirements effectively.
