Duty Manager - Collection Center (Keppetipola)

What you need to do

• Oversee the collection, sorting and grading of vegetables and fruits to ensure compliance with quality standards.
• Coordinate with suppliers, farmers and transporters to ensure timely delivery of produce.
• Assist in managing inventory levels, tracking stock and implementing efficient storage practices.
• Supervise and provide guidance to staff members, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and productivity goals.
• Train new employees on proper handling, sorting and storage techniques.
• Collaborate with the center manager to develop and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs).
• Monitor equipment and machinery to ensure they are in good working condition and report any maintenance needs.
• Handle farmer inquiries, complaints and requests, aiming to provide an excellent service.
• Maintain accurate records of transactions, invoices and other relevant documents.

What we are looking for

• A Graduate or Diploma holder in Agriculture or Business Management
• Minimum 03 - 04 years' work experience in a similar role, preferably in the agriculture or food industry.
• Experience in logistics will be an added advantage.
• Strong knowledge of vegetable and fruit varieties, quality standards and handling procedures.
• Knowledge regarding the internal and external environment of the industry.
• Proficient computer skills, including MS Office applications.
• Knowledge of inventory management systems and software (desirable).
