Executive - Legal Officer

Job Responsibilities

  • Prepare and provide title reports and pedigree, including land registry searches and title updates, within specified timelines.
  • Negotiate with lessors' lawyers, to execute lease agreements and other relevant deeds within agreed timeframes.
  • Review and draft commercial agreements, including service provider agreements, supplier agreements, maintenance agreements and non-disclosure agreements (NDA) within set deadlines.
  • Handle matters related to the Consumer Affairs Authority (CAA) and Public Health Inspector (PHI) inquiries/cases and liaise with counsels and coordinate with outlet managers.
  • Perform administrative tasks related to certifying documents for new outlets and handle any other legal work as assigned by the supervisor.

Person Specifications

  • Proficiency in both English and Sinhala languages is mandatory for the Colombo jurisdiction.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Law (LLB) recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), and an Attorney at Law qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
  • Strong communication skills in both English and Sinhala together with excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to follow up, teamwork and persistence.
