Freshness Officer

Job Responsibilities

• Assist Warehouse Assistants (WHAs) in maintaining the quality of fruits and vegetables received at the Collection Center, ensuring that company quality standards are consistently met.
• Verify and ensure the required quality standards of fresh produce sorted by Warehouse Assistants at the Collection Center.
• Closely monitor the preparation and handling of fresh produce for timely dispatch to the Distribution Center, giving priority to short shelf-life items.
• Accurately maintain and verify item receiving registers and complete farmer registrations in accordance with company guidelines and required documentation.
• Conduct final quality inspections prior to loading goods onto trucks; ensure vehicle conditions are suitable, including temperature checks and side door inspections.
• Communicate IBD numbers and lorry dispatch times to the Distribution Center in a timely manner.
• Ensure cleanliness, organization, and hygiene standards at the Collection Center, maintaining a safe working environment in line with health and safety requirements.
• Follow the daily wastage process in coordination with the Distribution Center and manage outlet returns appropriately.

Person Specifications

• Successful completion of GCE Advanced Level (A/L) or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in fresh produce, warehousing, or supply chain operations.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to handle challenging situations effectively.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines, with strong attention to accuracy, task prioritization, and time management.
