Quality Assurance Officer

What you need to do
- • Ensure all fresh produce processing activities are carried out in accordance with established quality, food safety, and hygiene standards.
- • Conduct quality inspections throughout sorting, cutting, packing, storage, and dispatch processes to ensure product consistency and compliance.
- • Perform routine quality checks on product specifications, including portion sizes, pack weights, labelling accuracy, seal integrity, and overall product presentation.
- • Monitor adherence to Food Safety, HACCP, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and company quality standards across the Value Addition Centre.
- • Identify quality deviations, non-conformities, and food safety risks, and implement corrective and preventive actions in a timely manner.
- • Maintain traceability records and ensure all product information, stickers, and labels are accurately applied.
- • Conduct regular audits of processing areas, storage facilities, equipment, and employee hygiene practices.
- • Monitor storage conditions and ensure proper handling of raw materials and finished products while maintaining FIFO (First In, First Out) standards.
- • Work closely with Operations, Inventory, and Centre Management teams to ensure product quality requirements are met throughout the production process.
- • Maintain accurate quality documentation, inspection records, audit reports, checklists, and compliance documentation.
What you need
- • Diploma or degree in food science, food technology, food hygiene and safety, hotel management, culinary arts, or a related field.
- • HACCP, GMP, Food Safety Management, or related professional certifications would be an added advantage.
- • Minimum 2 years of experience in quality assurance, food safety, food processing, fresh produce handling, manufacturing, or a similar operational environment.
- • Sound knowledge of food hygiene practices, quality management systems, GMP, HACCP, and food safety standards.
- • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify quality deviations and maintain high product standards.
- • Experience in conducting quality inspections, audits, compliance monitoring, and documentation management.
- • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
