Job Responsibilities

 

  • Develop and implement logistics strategies to ensure timely and accurate delivery of frozen and dry products to customers and distributors.
  • Maintain cold chain integrity throughout storage, handling, and transportation to preserve product quality and safety.
  • Optimize route planning, fleet utilization, and delivery schedules to enhance efficiency and reduce transportation costs.
  • Manage and strengthen relationships with 3PLs, transporters, and cold storage providers to ensure service reliability and performance.
  • Oversee frozen storage facilities, ensuring strict temperature control, hygiene, and compliance with food safety standards.
  • Monitor inventory levels regularly; conduct stock reconciliations to minimize variances, spoilage, and product loss.
  • Implement FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) systems to ensure freshness and product traceability.
  • Maximize warehouse space utilization, enforce timely stock rotation, and streamline storage practices to meet operational needs.
  • Ensure all logistics and warehousing operations comply with HACCP, ISO, SLS, and other food safety and quality standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for audits, regulatory inspections, and internal quality assurance reviews.
  • Enforce compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations in logistics and storage operations.
  • Conduct regular training and awareness programs on hygiene, safety, and regulatory protocols for warehouse and logistics staff.
  • Identify and close process gaps through continuous improvement initiatives in logistics and distribution operations.
  • Negotiate rates and service agreements with logistics partners to achieve cost optimization and service excellence.
  • Utilize ERP, WMS, and TMS platforms to improve planning, real-time tracking, inventory visibility, and performance reporting.
  • Monitor logistics KPIs and analyze operational data to identify trends, reduce inefficiencies, and drive performance improvements.
  • Lead and develop logistics and warehouse teams to achieve high standards in productivity, safety, and customer service.
  • Deliver coaching, training, and performance feedback to build engaged, skilled, and motivated teams.
  • Collaborate with procurement, production, sales, and quality assurance teams to align logistics functions with business objectives.
  • Define and monitor KPIs such as OTIF (On Time In Full), order fulfillment rates, inventory accuracy, and team productivity.
  • Lead unionized workforce in warehouse and transport operations with a focus on discipline, engagement, and efficiency.
  • Foster constructive labor relations by working proactively with union representatives to address workforce concerns.
  • Ensure compliance with Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs), national labor laws, and internal HR policies.
  • Partner with HR for effective handling of grievances, disputes, and disciplinary matters in a fair and consistent manner.

Person Specifications

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Operations, Logistics, Business Administration, Transportation, or Engineering
  • Proven working experience as a Logistics Manager, preferably in FMCG.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Prior experience in managing cold storage is a must.
  • Record of successful distribution and logistics management
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff.
  • Proficient in standard logistics software
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
