Executive - Finance
Tea Smallholder Factories PLC is a subsidiary of John Keells Holdings PLC and is listed under the Food & Beverage Sector in the Colombo Stock Exchange. The principal activity of the company is manufacturing and sale of black tea with tea factories in the districts of Galle and Nuwara Eliya.
A vacancy exists for the role of Executive – Finance, reporting to the Manager – Finance, in an environment which encourages new ideas and initiatives and provides excellent performance-based career development opportunities.
Job Responsibilities
- Preparation of Annual Plans & Reforecast.
- Optimize & manage the company working capital & foreign currency exposures.
- Finalization of Monthly Accounts & accurate Management Reporting within the stipulated timelines.
- Independently liaise with IRD, Banks, Insurance & other external parties on official issues.
- Ensure timely submission of tax returns & payments (WHT, IT, SVAT & VAT, etc).
- Responsible for ensuring the adherence to group & company policies.
- Independently finalize year end audit & the preparation of year end accounts.
- Coordination with Internal & External Auditors.
- Overlook the AP function of the company ensuring the adherence to controls
- Liaising with operations staff on day-to-day issues.
- Undertake regular factory visits
Person Specifications
- Be partly or fully qualified in CIMA / ACCA / ICASL / CMA
- 3 – 4 years’ experience in a similar capacity with experience in handling audits, etc. Prior experience with a firm of Chartered Accountants would be preferred.
- Comprehensive knowledge of financial principles.
- Language proficiency – Both English & Sinhalese.
- Excellent knowledge on MS Office
- Knowledge of SAP would be an added advantage.
