Role Summary
We are seeking a high-performing finance professional to join our Group Corporate Finance team as Assistant Vice President. This senior role offers a unique opportunity to shape strategic financial outcomes across multiple sectors, drive capital structuring initiatives, and support executive-level decision-making. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in long-term planning, investment analysis, and strategic transactions, working closely with the Head of Corporate Finance for the John Keells Group and senior leadership.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Lead the Group’s five-year strategic planning and financial consolidation process, including sector performance evaluation and portfolio strategy recommendations.
- Formulate and assess capital raising strategies aligned with business unit funding needs and Group-level financial priorities.
- Contribute to strategic planning, portfolio optimization, and investment structuring to support sustainable value creation.
- Conduct rigorous financial and investment analyses, including valuation, due diligence, and scenario modeling, to inform executive decisions.
- Evaluate and execute mergers, acquisitions, divestments, and restructuring initiatives in line with the Group’s strategic direction.
- Oversee development of the JKH Annual Report and the compilation of the Management Discussion and Analysis section of the Report, working in close collaboration with a cross-functional team.
- Drive high-impact strategic projects and initiatives as directed by Group leadership.
The Applicant should:
- Hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, Engineering, Mathematics or an equivalent professional qualification (ACCA / CIMA / ICASL / CFA).
- Possess a minimum of seven (07) years' relevant experience with at least two (02) years' at a senior level.
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of financial modelling and structuring, investment appraisal techniques, taxation and legal principles, and accounting standards.
- Have strategic and analytical capability with the ability to conceptualise/execute complex transactions.
- Exhibit excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders and operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic business environment.
