Executive - Sustainability, ERM & GI

The selected candidate will be responsible to work with the team to drive the ESG agenda for John Keells Holdings Plc. He / She will work and collaborate across the Group / Internal ESG committee to facilitate and influence initiatives to reach the ESG goals and outcomes. The role holder will also provide timely and regular updates to communicate the impact of these initiatives to internal leaders and external audiences / stakeholders in the ecosystem and will require an understanding of ESG trends / reporting frameworks as related to a diversified organisation operating in Sri Lanka.

Job Responsibilities

  • Project manage and assist in the integration of sustainability across various sectors of the Group
  • Assist in the preparation of Quarterly Sustainability reports to the GEC and Board of JKH
  • Assist in the preparation of the Group Annual Integrated Report
  • Coordinate and participate in the annual internal and external Sustainability Assurance processes
  • Coordinate and participate in the Risk Review process across all Group companies
  • Carry out research on global trends, analyse risk and sustainability performance of Group Companies and recommend possible initiatives
  • Preparation of Request for Proposals (RFP’s) and evaluation of supplier proposals for Group-wide sourcing and preparation supplier contracts
  • Analysis of bids and negotiating with suppliers on better pricing structures and terms and conditions

Person Specifications

  • An undergraduate degree related to Sustainability/ Science/Engineering
  • Full or part professional accounting qualification (CIMA, ACA, or ACCA) or equivalent would be an added advantage
  • Excellent report writing and oral/presentation communication skills in English
  • A high degree of analytical and evaluation skills
  • Ability to effectively multi task
  • Be a self-starter who is able to meet project deadlines and work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
  • Experience in the use of MS Office and other data platforms.
