Head of Corporate Communications

Key Responsibilities:

 

Strategic Communications & Reputation Management

  • Proactively manage and strengthen the Group’s reputation, ensuring preparedness and responsiveness especially in challenging and sensitive situations.
  • Develop and execute communications strategies, focusing on Environmental Social and Governance, that reinforce the Group’s positive positioning and perception amongst its stakeholders .

 

Storytelling & Brand Narrative

  • Craft compelling narratives that articulate the Group’s vision, values, and leadership across its diverse industry sectors.
  • Drive creative campaigns and thought leadership initiatives that strengthen brand equity and stakeholder trust.

 

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Lead communications and engagement with internal stakeholders at all levels across the Group.
  • Build and sustain relationships with diverse external stakeholder groups, including media, influencers, and the wider public.

 

Media Relations

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with editors, journalists, and opinion leaders to ensure balanced, accurate, and timely coverage of the Group.
  • Act as the principal liaison for media interactions, including issues management, crisis communication, and high-level interviews relating to the Corporate Brand.

 

Collaboration Across Sectors

  • Partner with marketing and communications teams across the Group’s multiple industry sectors to ensure ESG brand consistency, alignment, and amplification.
  • Provide strategic communications guidance to Group businesses on high-impact initiatives and sector-specific projects.

 

Content & Channels

  • Oversee the development of high-quality, engaging content for internal and external platforms, including corporate publications, the corporate websites & JKH digital social channels.
  • Ensure effective use of emerging platforms and digital innovations to enhance the Group’s communication reach and impact.  
  • Work efficiently on multiple simultaneous campaigns with different creative and production agencies to deliver engaging content to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Analyse audience insights and campaign performance to optimise reach, engagement, and impact across all platforms, ensuring accountability and measurable ROI.

 

Event Management

  • Lead the planning and execution of high-profile corporate events, conferences, and stakeholder forums, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and strategic objectives.
  • Provide communications and event support for Group-wide initiatives, including thought leadership forums and milestone celebrations.

 

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Proven track record in corporate communications, public relations, or brand management at senior leadership level.
  • Strategic thinker with exceptional storytelling and creative communication skills in English and additionally Sinhala or Tamil.
  • Academic and/or professional qualifications in marketing, or related fields.

 

Remuneration for the above position will be in accordance with the JKH Compensation and Benefits Policy.
