Internal Audit Executive

The Group Business Process Review Division is responsible for the timely conduct and execution of all Internal Audits of the Group conducted by the panel of Outsourced Internal Auditors. The new operating model moves away from the traditional financial internal audit and is now focused more on conducting operational reviews with the objective of delivering value to the management teams of our business units. Group BPR reports to the Board Audit Committee of John Keells Holdings PLC.
We are currently looking for a results oriented individual from within John Keells Group to join our team. The selected individual will have the opportunity to gain wide exposure to all sectors of the Group and also closely interact with senior management teams, which would contribute towards the individual’s personal development and career progression within the Group.
You will be a part of the team that will be responsible for:
- Developing the audit plan for the outsourced internal auditors (OIA) and monitor execution of same.
- Ensuring all timelines relating to internal audits are met by all stakeholders.
- Facilitating, coordinating whilst ensuring that the internal audits are carried out in a manner to extract maximum value to the Company. Industry best practices should be adopted to identify areas to enhance processes and cost efficiencies.
- Reviewing and recommending controls and processes to safeguard the assets of the Company and preventing frauds and operational losses.
- Conducting special audits and investigations into any areas of the Company’s business as directed by the Chairperson of the Audit Committee/s.
- Conducting detailed studies on areas where there is room for improvement and providing value adding recommendations to management for implementation
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Final Level of ICA/ACCA/CIMA/CMA or a degree in the areas of Finance, Business Administration or similar.
- Knowledge of operational systems/process improvements.
- Business Analysis skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
- Effective presentation and interpersonal skills.
- Experience in the use of MS Office and Excel in particular.
- 2-3 years audit experience will be an advantage.
