Electrical Engineer
The company is seeking a suitable candidate to fill the position of Electrical Engineer. The position exists to assist in overseeing preventive maintenance activities, seamless electrical operations, and supporting production and utility operations at the Soft Drinks Factory. This includes the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems in production and utility equipment for both Ice Cream and Soft Drinks Factories. The role requires compliance with statutory and organizational guidelines, ensuring operational continuity and minimizing downtime, with the objective of supporting uninterrupted production processes and enhancing overall equipment reliability.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the preventive maintenance of electrical aspects of utility and production equipment, ensuring optimal operation and minimizing breakdowns for the Soft Drinks Factory (SDF).
- Take responsibility for maintaining the electrical systems of all utility and production equipment at the Ice Cream Factory (ICF).
- Ensure the availability of necessary spares and take proactive measures to maintain stock levels, preventing technical failures that could result in production stoppages.
- Support energy management efforts by ensuring accurate records are maintained and energy monitoring data is collected regularly.
- Collaborate with mechanical and electrical design engineers on new and refurbishment projects with a focus on sustainability and energy efficiency.
- Conduct energy surveys and benchmark energy consumption against best practice guidelines to ensure energy utilization is optimized and maintained at required levels.
- Handle administrative tasks efficiently, including maintaining SAP records, managing the On Time System, and addressing labor-related matters.
- Interact with external equipment and service suppliers to ensure smooth operations and minimum downtime.
- Ensure that all administrative activities related to the unit are conducted accurately and with high efficiency to support operational continuity.
- Ensure compliance with applicable ISO requirements, including QMS, FSMS, EMS, and OHSMS, within the respective area of responsibility.
Person Specifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent from a recognized University with 3-5 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Understanding the Critical Processes involved in preventive maintenance in Electrical/Electronic aspects of utility/production equipment in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic troubleshooting skills for utility and production equipment related to electrical and electronic systems in a manufacturing environment, with knowledge of remote diagnostic processes and basic-level Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) operations, including uploading.
- Familiarity with general maintenance practices, factory upkeep, labor handling, and an overview of key labor laws, along with the ability to delegate and supervise manual work effectively to ensure smooth operations.
- Strong planning, organizing, and controlling skills, with effective communication and interpersonal relationship abilities.
- Proficiency in leadership, motivation, and adapting quickly to changing business requirements.
- Demonstrates self-initiation, independent decision-making, time management, and prioritization to ensure efficient task execution and goal achievement.
