Team Leader - Financial Services

Job Responsibilities

This role is resposible for Handling high level accounting functions of foreign clients, managing a team as and when required and preparing reports on team performance.

• Maintain and manage General Ledger (GL) accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare Management Information (MI) reports and support financial analysis.
• Lead the preparation of Annual Financial Statements in compliance with accounting standards.
• Ensure timely and accurate month-end close, meeting all deadlines.
• Monitor and ensure adherence to SLAs and service delivery standards.
• Perform and review bank reconciliations, ensuring timely completion.
• Communicate reconciling items clearly to relevant stakeholders and ensure prompt resolution.
• Co-lead and guide an accounting team, providing oversight, reviews, and operational support.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant financial reporting.

Person Specifications

• Minimum 5+ years of experience in finance or accounting roles.
• Completed or following a Finance/Accounting degree or a professional qualification i(CA / ACCA / CIMA / CMA / AAT, CPA) is mandatory
• Hands-on exposure to bookkeeping, financial statement preparation, reconciliations, and team management.
• Previous experience in the telecommunications industry will be an added advantage.
• Experience in managing teams and ensuring SLAs are met.
• Hands-on exposure to SAP / ERP systems will be an added advantage
• Good knowledge and experience in Advanced Excel with analytical skills
• Full professional proficiency in English.
