Manager - Business Development

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensuring the achievement of revenue growth targets by identifying, pursuing, and securing new business opportunities across warehousing, transportation, distribution, and value-added services.
  • Ensuring strong customer relationship management by proactively engaging with key decision-makers, understanding operational challenges, and proposing customized logistics solutions.
  • Ensuring comprehensive market and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer needs, and emerging opportunities within the 3PL sector.
  • Ensuring high-quality commercial proposals, pricing models, and solution presentations in collaboration with the solutions design, operations, and finance teams.
  • Ensuring effective management of the end-to-end sales cycle, including lead generation, qualification, solution pitching, negotiation, contracting, and onboarding.
  • Ensuring alignment between customer requirements and operational capabilities by working closely with cross-functional teams.
  • Ensuring the maintenance of a well-managed sales pipeline with accurate forecasting and periodic performance reporting.
  • Ensuring brand visibility and networking by representing JKLL at industry events, forums, and client engagements.
  • Ensuring continuous improvement in sales processes, client engagement methods, and solution offerings to enhance competitiveness.

 

Person Specifications

  • Strong commercial and business development acumen with a deep understanding of logistics, warehousing, transportation, and supply chain dynamics.
  • Proven ability in sales strategy development, client acquisition, and key account management.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate customer needs into effective solutions.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and customer orientation.
  • Proficiency in CRM systems, MS Office applications, and familiarity with logistics-related digital tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams while managing high-value commercial engagements.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience

 

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field; a Master’s Degree (MBA) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 5–7 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, or Key Account Management, preferably in 3PL, logistics, transportation, or service sectors.
  • Demonstrated track record of achieving sales targets and managing large accounts.
  • Experience working within or with a corporate group structure is preferred.
