Executive – Compliance

The Job:

The person will be responsible to assist the Manager-Compliance to ensure that the company complies with all applicable laws, regulations, and standards thereby creating a culture of compliance within Union Assurance PLC

 

Principal Accountability:

  • Coordinate with the respective internal stakeholders and submit GoAML threshold reports in line with the regulatory standards and adhering to the timelines.
  • Sanction screening alerts review and closure in a timely manner, daily.
  • Daily transaction monitoring alerts review and prompt clearance.
  • Gather information required for STR filing from operational teams and submit same for evaluation of the Manager – Compliance.
  • Upload STRs details in the GoAML system for approval.
  • Conduct periodic compliance reviews and sample audits as part of the compliance review program and submit reports to the management through the Manager-Compliance.
  • Assist Manager-Compliance for compliance driven projects and initiatives
  • Provide periodic training on compliance aspects and conduct specialized/ad-hoc trainings to internal teams with the guidance of Manager-Compliance
  • Prepare reports and updates for various internal committees (BACC, ExCom, etc.) and submit for   Manager-Compliance review.
  • Promote ethical practices and a commitment to compliance with the laws and regulations

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Law/ Finance from a recognized university/ Institute
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in compliance from Insurance industry or a related field.
  • Full/ Part qualification in recognized professional institute will be an added advantage
  • Knowledge of relevant laws and regulations
  • Fair understanding on regulatory framework of Insurance industry
  • Ability to work under minimum supervision, multi-task and work under pressure
  • A self-motivated individual as well as a team player
  • Impeccable attention to detail with quality focus
