The Job Role:
The person will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy of investment transactions and settlements, as well as maintaining and updating investment records.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Manage bank relationships, reconciling holdings, and preparing reports on investment transactions and settlements.
- Ensure investment transactions are recorded correctly and in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Enter equity deals into the system through file upload
- Confirm deals with counterparties and verify calculation of values
- Ensure accuracy of investment documents and certificates and confirmation of account details and collateral (securities)
- Prepare documentation for investments and submit for approval and Check settlement funding availability and manage bank relationships
- Obtain signatures from trade tickets and arrange cheques when necessary
- Check transaction accuracy and enter settlements into the system
- Safeguard short-term certificates, fund management agreements, investment policies, POAs, and WHT certificates
- Reconcile holdings with CDS and CBSL
- Make fees payments for Lynear and custody fees
- Open accounts with new asset managers
- Perform month-end processing including checking, accruals, valuation, corporate actions, and entering dividends into the system
- Confirm balances for audits and verify fund performance
- Review investment transactions for accuracy and completeness
- Ensure timely and accurate settlement of investment transactions
- Maintain investment records and ensure they are up to date and prepare reports on investment transactions and settlements
- Monitor investment performance and report on any issues or concerns
- Track investment cash flows and ensure they are properly recorded
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements related to investment transactions and settlements
Qualifications and Experience
- A Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized University in Finance or equivalent discipline.
- 03 – 05 years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably in the insurance industry
- Full/ Part qualification in recognized professional institute will be an added advantage
- Knowledge of general principles of investments and back-office operations.
- Sound knowledge on Microsoft office packages (Advance technical knowledge in Microsoft Excel.)
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Strong adaptability, work under pressure and capacity to work in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
