Assistant Manager – Treasury Middle Office

The Job:
The person will be responsible for the independent monitoring, analysis, and reporting of treasury-related risks. This includes market risk, liquidity risk, and counterparty risk also ensures compliance with internal policies, regulatory requirements and supports strategic decision-making by providing insights to the management.
Principal Accountability:
- Monitor the daily cash balances and carry out reconciliation
- Monitor all the investment transactions daily
- Approval of all the investment transactions in the online banking platform withing stipulated cut-off timelines. (First verification)
- Obtaining and valuation of collateral information on investments
- Ensure all the investments comply with IRCSL guidelines and internal investment limits
- Ensure all the investment decisions are in line with the investment committee decisions
- Checking of Investment limits and guiding the investment division on the capacity
- Check all transactions for off market rate and exceptions
- Monitoring all equity transactions daily and highlighting if any deviations from investment limits
- Monitoring credit rating of issuers and instruments
- Pricing and valuation of investment instruments on a daily basis
- Dealing with external fund managers on the trades executed by them
- Uploading of Equity Trades
- Reconciliation of all investment transactions with the third-party confirmations
- Checking of liquidity limits
- Provide oversight and control of the fundamental prudential risk of UAL, counterparty, liquidity interest rate and other market risks
- Conduct stress testing and scenario analysis
- Independent calculation of Net Asset Valuation of all 3 Unit Linked Products – this is a time critical process
- Compliance reporting to Investment Committee & Group
- Submission of Compliance related information to Finance for submission of IRCSL returns
- Month end reconciliation of investment transactions and ensure all the transactions are entered in SAP
- Month end Posting of investment transactions
- Managing CDS and Public debt (Lanka Secure)
- Dealing with Internal & External Auditors on Investment Compliance
Qualifications and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree/MBA from a reputed university specializing in Finance or Accounting
- Full/ Part qualification in recognized professional institute will be an added advantage
- Minimum 03-04 Years in Senior Executive Level, with 8+ years overall experience
- Strong understanding of market, liquidity, and counterparty risk.
- Proficiency in treasury management systems and risk modeling tools.
- Knowledge of banking regulations and financial markets.
- Sound knowledge on Microsoft office packages
- Excellent communication, analytical, reporting and decision making skills.
- Strong adaptability, work under pressure and capacity to work in fast-paced environments.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment.
