Financial Controller

The Job Role:
The person will be responsible for overseeing all aspects such as treasury, tax compliance, accounts payable and accounts receivable and the back office investment function.
Principle Accountabilities:
- Develop and implement a financial operations strategy that supports the overall business strategy and goals
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure company’s financial stability and success
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations
- Monitor financial operations to ensure compliance with policies and regulations
- Manage and oversee the operations of the Payment Office, Treasury, and Taxation functions and finance back office.
- Work with these functions to ensure financial operations are aligned with business needs and requirements
- Create annual expenses and revenue plans, monitor budgetary performance
- Monitor cash flow, and ensure sufficient liquidity to meet company’s financial obligations
- Ensure sufficient cash flow and liquidity for day-to-day operations, liaise with the treasury team to take course corrective action on the policies
- Provide strategic guidance on treasury management and tax management
- Support in establishing policies and procedures for account payable and receivables
- Provide guidance and support to the Payment Office sub-function for accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Oversee the creation of cash flow statements, financial reports, balance sheets, and monthly, quarterly reconciliations
- Track and report on financial performance against budget and forecast
- Liaise with tax consultants when required to ensure compliance with tax regulations and manage all tax-related requirements
- Identify areas for process improvement and develop plans to streamline and automate financial operations processes.
- Provide leadership to the team to drive innovation, collaboration, and data-driven decision making
- Guide and monitor performance to ensure productive and professional delivery
Qualifications and Experience
- 12 plus years of relevant experience in Finance with 8+ years of leadership/senior management experience.
- An MBA from a recognized university with a degree or a Member of CIMA,ACCA or CA Sri Lanka.
- Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning.
- Excellent leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Outstanding leadership, coaching and mentoring skills.
